A totally overhauled model for 2024, this revision sees a massive update to the drivetrain in the form of the brand new Shimano GRX-610 2x12 groupset as well as a refinement of the component specification with a goal to make the ultimate do it all aggressive gravel bike.

With a true focus on everything 'Backroad' from endless fire-road adventures, to bike packing expeditions, this bike even holds it's own as your new winter road bike given half a chance. The super wide 2x12 gear range and super capable Causeway Chassis mean this really is the ultimate do it all adventure bike.

BACKROAD VERSATILITY:

This year, we have split our bike builds into 2 distinct categories, to help tailor the build more specifically to the rider. The BACKROAD build kits sit a little closer to the more common all-road competition on the market, with a focus on good gear steps, wide range, and the ability to tackle high speeds, steep climbs and everything in between. These bikes are built onto our award winning Causeway GR1.1 chassis, which has been recognised by many as the 'go-to' for aggressive and confidence inspiring off road capabilities.

WIDE(R) RANGE FOR ALL TERRAIN:

The GRX-610 brake/shift levers come packed with ride enhancing technology to maximise power and grip no matter where you are holding on.

The rear derailleur has been updated with even more MTB tech which means your chain stays firmly where it should on any descent so all you need to think about is keeping the bike upright and flowing down the trail with a smile on your face.

Are you looking for the ultimate do it all bike to take you everywhere? Our Backroad range is designed for the cycling enthusiast who chooses big rides and has an eye on performance.

All of our Backroad models come with a huge 2x12 gear range, packed with tech to improve shifting and chain retention, meaning you spend more time on 2 wheels and less time in the workshop.

2x12 Crank Set

All of the gear range of the latest road bike, paired with the robust and reliable build quality that Shimano GRX is already well known for. The Core models receive a 46/30t crank while the Control models comes with 48/31t rings as standard.

12spd Rear Derailleur

Crammed full of off road technology, the GRX 820 rear derailleur is shared across all of our Backroad models and with the use of an integrated clutch mechanism, retains the chain and keeps the noise to a minimum all while offering silky smooth shifting even under load.

Large 160mm rotors front and rear paired with updated brake calipers and rotors (Control Builds only) ensure that no matter how much equipment you bring on your adventure, you will always have the power to control your speed on the descents.
